Never picked up a guitar before? Can't read a beat of music - don't worry.

There are no prerequisites, you just need a guitar.

How long will it take to learn guitar?

Depending on how often you practice, it's possible to start strumming along to some songs within a few weeks.

 

Is music theory important for playing guitar?

No, you don't have to learn how to read music in order to play guitar. Guitar can be read using much more simple notation called tableture, which is built into each lesson.

About Me

Background
I have 12 years of experience tutoring guitar to students of all ages and skill levels. I have had the pleasure of teaching in South Africa (where I am originally from), Ireland, and England.

 

Currently I am the Music Teacher and Guitar Tutor at The Drive Preparatory School in Brighton, and I offer private in-person guitar tutoring in Brighton and online guitar tutoring across the U.K.

Education and Experience
I studied at the British and Irish Modern Music University in Dublin, and I have my Grade 6 in Guitar from Trinity College London. I am also fully DBS checked.

Throughout my teaching career, I have had the opportunity to work with students of all ages and backgrounds. Whether teaching a young child who is just starting out or working with a seasoned musician who is looking to take their playing to the next level, I am always able to tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each student.
